Job Description and Qualifications
The Customer Engineering Business Improvement Lead will:
* Lead and mentor Lean Six Sigma projects through a Design Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC) process.
* Work closely with the Customer Engineering Manager and work process owners to deploy Lean Six Sigma and translate to functional goals with quantifiable results.
* Execute high impact regional and multi-functional projects that support the Industrial Gasses Business, Customer Engineering Central and Sub-regional Teams in North America.
* Lead project development and selection, development of project plans, and metrics identification, follow toll gate reviews, maintain project database and reporting systems.
* Drive Lean Six Sigma cultural growth in conjunction with Air Products data driven mindset initiative.
* Projects in Customer Engineering will focus on:
* Cryogenic Tank Rehab process optimization: internal work process and external work process with suppliers
* Maintenance cost reduction driven by Field Service Management (FSM) Data
* Cost reduction efforts working closely with the Product, Work Process & Strategy, Asset, Application Engineering, and Telemetry Teams. Efforts will also work directly with the North, South, and West Subregion technical and commercial teams.
* Facilitate and lead ideation sessions with Central Teams, Subregions, and Commercial organizations
* Tracking progress and reporting on financial productivity benefits
* Achieve the CE Central Team goal of $1 million productivity benefits each year

Education/qualifications:
* Bachelors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
* Black belt or green belt certification is preferred but not required
* Can acquire this when in the position
* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in chemical or oil and gas operations or technical environment
* Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma deployment experience within operations, engineering, or technical functions and effective training skills
* Demonstrated project management skills
* Ability to communicate with IT resources to design solutions
* Willing to travel up to 10% of the time
