Western Digital is seeking a candidate on our Silicon Operations Team in Milpitas, CA. In this role, the individual will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, including Global Capacity Planning/ Industrial Engineering, Product & Test Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Equipment Engineering, India Ops, Procurement and Finance teams. The individual will be the owner of non Fab CAPEX related to the following areas within Silicon Operations - SIP Assembly and Memory/System Test. The individual will serve in the managerial position of Manager, Industrial Engineering and oversee the Capacity Planning team for SIP Assembly and Memory/System Test. The main responsibilities of this team is to model the assembly and test capacity at the companys various manufacturing locations, establish the annual CAPEX budget for each of the areas, proposing & triggering the required purchases as needed to meet the global demand at target buffers, working with different teams to resolve capacity constraints that may arise, either short term or long term and working on minimizing the CAPEX by maintaining supply chain flexibility.

Besides the above-mentioned CAPEX responsibilities, the individual will work with different Capacity Planners to document the business process requirements. Will work with India Ops team to automate the business process requirements. Will lead all projects concerning process automation and efficiency improvements.

Ideal candidate is someone who has strong knowledge in Semi-Conductor Operations and is analytical strong in solving complex datasets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Directing and managing a team of Industrial Engineering professionals specialized in Sip Assembly and Memory/System Test Capacity Planning
* Responsible for proposing the Annual CAPEX spend needed for Sip Assembly and Memory/System Test
* Responsible to work with different organizations within the company to gather all necessary input data such as assembly UPH, test time, test equipment platform, tester parallelism and tester efficiency that are needed to do detailed capacity analysis
* Responsible for reflecting the correct capacity constraints across various manufacturing locations in the Advance Planning System (i2)
* Responsible to validate/de-bug the advanced planning tool output
* Responsible for highlighting/resolving the capacity constraints near term or long term by working with the factory IE team to improve tester efficiency/UPH and test engineering team to reduce test time
* Responsible for updating the upper management on a monthly basis on the CAPEX spent vs budgeted for NAND Wafer Test, Drive Assembly & Test area
* Responsible for proposing different ideas to reduce the overall CAPEX spend by optimizing the on-hand equipment and meeting the companys demand at the required buffer level
* Responsible for working with the various factory industrial engineering teams and global test engineering teams to align on the need for the long-term CAPEX spend
* Responsible to work with demand planning to understand the long-term demand variations and accordingly propose strategy/equipment buys

Requirements:

* Masters degree in Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain Management
* 3+ years of experience in operations/ supply chain/ project management experience
* Must have experience with Advanced Planning Systems such as i2
* Must have experience with leading automation projects on business processes
* Must have strong analytical skills
* Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a collaborative team environment with multiple sites
* Capable of managing multiple fast paced projects with aggressive deadline requirements
* Great teammate, highly motivated, ambitious, and a quick learner

Additional Desired Qualifications/Technical Skills:

* Advanced knowledge in MS Excel, VBA, Tableau, SQL & SAP
