The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.
The Consumer Loan Underwriter 3 will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving and underwriting moderate individual consumer requests and products within company and industry guidelines.
Functions may include:
* Evaluating and ensuring overall loan transaction is accurate, complete, and compliant
* Applying knowledge of standard underwriting procedures, creditor financial analysis techniques
* Reviewing and correcting analysis of financial documents
* Reviewing credit reports and interpreting the data
* Calculation of applicable ratios to determine affordability, credit utilization, asset coverage, etc.
* Reviewing supporting documentation for truthfulness and accuracy
* Implementation of fraud detection and prevention techniques
* Understanding of the use of automated scoring system
* Will have direct responsibility for receiving inbound phone inquiries and underwriting from internal (banker) and external customers
Additional functions may include evaluating and ensuring overall loan documents are accurate, complete, and compliant; reviewing of financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios and other supporting documentation; using an automated scoring system or traditional underwriting to determine acceptability of moderate requests; contacting customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions, explain rationale behind credit decisions, and/or to sell/promote line products; staying abreast of any changes in underwriting provisions; working with production to resolve questions when possible.
Schedule:
10am-7:00pm MST Monday through Friday with a Saturday shift every third weekend
Requires flexibility to work any 8-hour shift during hours of operation.
Requires flexibility to work hours which may include: weekends, overtime, and work hours beyond 7:00pm
Schedule subject to change according to business need.
Position is on-site for the first 6 weeks and then will transition to a work from home environment until such time as the Line of Business transitions back to an on-site working environment at a time to be determined.

Required Qualifications
* 4+ years of underwriting experience

* Basic Microsoft Office skills
* Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
* 1+ year of customer service experience
* 1+ year of call center experience
* Ability to provide strong customer service and develop customer relationships
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
