The IT Supervisor is responsible for managing Information Systems, Local Area Network (LAN), Network Server, AS400/HMS Server, telephone systems and all hospital Workstations. The IT supervisor is responsible for collaboration with department managers to develop new systems and applications for greater operational efficiency and business processes which includes:

* Providing short and long term strategic IT planning for company
* Assessment and planning of new IT projects
* Implementing Best Practices- computer usage and security/ HIPAA security officer duties
* Updating and configuring physical network availability
* Requisition and management of hardware, Circuits and services
* Development and maintenance of vendor relations
* Digital video cameras- software installation, monitoring, system administration and maintenance
* Network server and workstation hardware/ software upgrade and data migration

*This individual will not only manage two Help Desk Technicians, but will also serve as a Help Desk Technician themselves.*

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor of Arts

Experience:

* thorough knowledge of computers and business software application programs and experience managing system administration.

* May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS.

* Systems and Local Area Network (LAN) Management
* Oversee technical IT installations, assessments and evaluations
* Requisition of computer related hardware, software and network equipment.
* Systems performance monitoring and diagnostics, configuration and administration
* Management of Servers, Workstations and Network bandwidth utilization
* Installation of new software releases, perform system wide upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolution of software related conflicts
* Perform system backups and recovery
* Maintain data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity
* Active Directory (AD) management - protection of user systems, group policies, security and permissions and ensuring centralized virus protection.
* Technical documentation and inventory (hardware, software, OS, updates, Policy & Procedures)
* Installation/ configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Peripheral Network hardware- (e.g., printers, PDAs, pagers)
* Accudose troubleshooting and network connectivity
* Database development and administration
* Assessment, repair and replacement of failing hardware
* Ensure effective usage and availability of network resources
* Network Servers
* Provide network standardization and protocols on servers and AD for LAN
* Monitor access and usage- permissions, rights, organization
* Performance monitoring and optimization- all hardware and software
* Server maintenance- logs, monitor and update Folders: User, Dept, Public
* Ensure naming convention and standardization in AD
* Hospital Workstations
* Build out and testing of all computers in hospital (including OS, applications)
* Complete workstation builds utilizing various installation procedures
* Application research, installation and user support
* Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all hospital workstations for optimal efficiency
* Backup process for future builds
* AS400/HMS Server
* Monitor, maintenance and installation of server updates (daily and over weekends)
* HMS Performance- Daily cleaning, purging orphan sessions, monitoring jobs and extensive user support
* Hardware and software (HMS) configuration
* Perform System Security Office functions including: enabling new users, disabling terminated users, maintaining authorization lists
* Extensive user education and training
* Maintain backup libraries
* Telephone systems
* Configure, monitor and maintenance of NEC system
* Assess and evaluate existing line usage; consolidation of hospital venders
* End user set-up and support
* HIPAA Security Officer
* Employee education
* Review hospital information systems to ensure HIPAA compliance
* Monitor user compliance within systems
* Update management on compliance issues Support systems
* Support systems
* Staff support including network access, application configuration, troubleshooting, administration and access to virtual services
* Account creation- 100% employee/profile compliance
* Training/user education for employees- access and policies
* Detailed documentation: network HW/SW inventory and OS updates
* Maintain relationship with corporate office to develop strategic alliances
* Tacoma and Kirkland schools: Management of all hardware, software, network connectivity and facilitation of access to PSI network resources. Implementation of policies and procedures.
* General Requirements
* Continuous pursuit of knowledge of current and future PC technology and software applications.
* Maintain a working knowledge of HMS software components.
* Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
* Attend all mandatory facility in services and staff development activities as scheduled.
* Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
* Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives
* Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information
* Other projects as the DPO might designate

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to sit and stand (one-third of the shift), and walk (two-thirds of the shift).
* Ability to reach above, at or below waist height, kneel, bend, stoop, turn, twist, and throw.
* Ability to see well enough to reach charts, treatment plans and typewritten materials.
* Ability to hear well enough to detect noises on the unit and to discern odors.
* Ability to frequently lift and carry ten pounds; occasionally lift and carry ten to fifty pounds.
* Ability to frequently push/pull wheeled carts from one hundred to two hundred pounds.
* Ability to manipulate small and large tools (fax machines, telephone, wheelchair, walkers, paper punch, addressograph, staplers, copy machine).
* Ability to spend 95% of the workday inside in temperatures varying from 60-90 degrees f. and where noise levels range from low to high.
* Ability to spend 5% of the workday outside in temperatures varying from 30-110 degrees f.
* Ability to handle hazardous/infectious waste.
* Ability to work in an environment where chemicals are frequently used for cleaning; where mechanical and electrical hazards may occasionally be present and where dust, mist and steam are generated in housekeeping tasks.
* Ability to work frequently at a rapid pace and perform a variety of repetitive duties.
* Ability to respond to exposure to blood and body fluids-category one.
