Once our offices safely reopen, this position will preferably be located at our TDS corporate office in Middleton, WI or at the U.S. Cellular headquarters in Chicago, IL. We are also open to filling this role in any of our other physical office locations: Denver, CO; Scottsdale, AZ, Eden Prairie, MN or Des Moines / Cedar Rapids, IA. Work arrangements outside these locations may also be considered. Some travel to company offices in the upper Midwest will be required and frequency will depend on home office location.
Responsibilities
The Director IT Audit leads the information technology and data analytics internal audit activities in support of financial and operational audits and the SOX 404 Compliance program for the TDS family of companies. This position establishes and manages assigned relationships within the business units and with providers of any co-sourced internal control / audit services with a primary focus on IT stakeholders. The Director - IT Audit works with the Internal Audit and Control Services (ICAS) leadership team to assist the Vice President, Internal Audit in establishing the vision and strategic direction of the department. This position also serves as the Sarbanes Oxley expert for the technology portion of the TDS Enterprise and leads efforts to ensure quality of internal control and audit services provided. In addition, the Director - IT Audit provides leadership and control and process expertise on system implementations and major process improvement initiatives across the TDS Enterprise.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* 10+ years hands-on experience in managing or auditing internal controls in the technology space, either as part of an internal or external audit function, management functions, or SOX 404 compliance program
* 5+ years leadership / management experience AND/OR experience leading project teams, from scoping through successful execution of project objectives. This includes coordinating the creation and presentation of findings/results to Senior Executive Management and the Board of Directors (primarily Audit Committees).
Other Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and related financial reporting requirements, SEC regulations, and financial and accounting processes and concepts.
* Substantial knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and experience with compliance execution.
* Understanding of the concepts of COSO, NIST and other appropriate frameworks.
* Experience consulting on system transition (particularly in an SAP environment), reengineering and process improvement projects strongly preferred.
* Experience with utilizing Data Analytics to improve internal and external operations
* Demonstrated orientation and commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives in pursuit of its vision.
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with and manage relationships with all levels of employees and leaders throughout the Company.
* Demonstrated ability to get positive results through influence, persuasion, leadership, presentations, training, and group facilitation skills.
* Ability to balance organizational short-term and long-term objectives.
* In the area of internal controls design, an orientation towards simplification through automation (vs. manual) and prevention (vs. detection).
* Ability to effectively recruit, manage and develop team members in concert with TDS values and behaviors.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
* Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, strategic thinking, analytical, organizational, time management, project leadership skills and experience.
