Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Lead team of Region Directors of Commercial Construction focused on developing/implementing construction standards, policies and procedures, process improvement, and reporting for all Residential/SMB construction for the company. Support Region Construction teams and Residential/SMB teams to efficiently design/build residential/smb fiber construction solutions. Oversee all residential/smb aspects of cable plant construction including new, replacement and upgrade.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with VP of Construction to identify opportunities to streamline construction workflow, improve construction SLAs, and institute commercial construction standards across the company.

Lead a team of Region Directors of Construction to support region construction teams and implement construction processes and procedures across the company.

Work with Residential/SMB Team to identify areas of opportunity to better support their business plan and improve quality and time to build for all commercial construction projects.

Advise the Vice President of Construction on matters associated with Enterprise and SMB construction projects and processes.

Achieve excellent relationships with internal customers including Engineering, Technical Operations, Sales, Marketing, Government Affairs and Customer Care.

Provide input to capital budgets and analysis of financial performance with managing capital.

Negotiate and administer contracts with construction vendors and utilities.

Develop standard SOWs for all construction contractors supporting Procurement and Regions to submit and review RFPs.

Manage continuous improvement cycle and acts as a change agent as opportunities to improve commercial construction delivery performance are identified.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Understanding of HFC Network design and operating principles including coax, fiber, and RF in both forward and return path with an emphasis on commercial fiber construction
Understanding of traditional fiber architectures including CWDM and DWDM
Technical knowledge of CATV plant and fiber optic construction, including drafting procedures, layout and design, permitting and make-ready requirements, aerial and underground construction practices, internal wiring specifications as well as an understanding of building materials and structures
Knowledge of aerial and underground construction specifications and practices
Knowledge of MDU/Apartment prewire and post-wire construction specifications and practices
Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize and schedule work, prioritize commitments, make decisions and work effectively under project deadlines
Extensive knowledge of OSHA, NESC, FCC and Industry Standard rules, regulations, and specifications
Advanced budgeting and financial management skills and experience
Strong business planning and forecasting skills
Strong analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills
Strong team and relationship building skills
Proven leadership and mentoring skills
Ability to analyze data and develop and present data driven reports
Ability to effectively manage large and complex projects
Proficient in the use of PCs, including database management, E-mail, and spreadsheets

Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience Number of Years
Construction experience with a focus on residential/SMB fiber construction 10+
Management experience 7+
Experience with all types of telecommunications construction practices and
techniques, including material management
Project Management experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment with 20% travel
Must possess a valid drivers license and good driving record

Time Warner Cable (TWC) was an American cable television company. Before it was purchased by Charter Communications on May 18, 2016, it was ranked the second largest cable company in the United States by revenue behind only Comcast, operating in 29 states. Its corporate headquarters were located in the Time Warner Center in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, with other corporate offices in Stamford, Connecticut; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Herndon, Virginia. From 1971 to 1981, Time Warner Cable, as Warner Cable, owned Dimension Pictures.

It was controlled by Warner Communications, then by Time Warner. That company spun off the cable operations in March 2009 as part of a larger restructuring. From 2009 to 2016, Time Warner Cable was an entirely independent company, continuing to use the Time Warner name under license from its former parent (including the "Road Runner" name for its Internet service, now Spectrum Internet).

In 2014, the company was the subject of a proposed purchase by Comcast Corporation, valued at $45.2 billion; however, following opposition to the deal by various groups, along with plans by the U.S. government to try to block the merger, Comcast called off the deal in April 2015. On May 26, 2015, Charter Communications announced that it would acquire Time Warner Cable for $78.7 billion, along with Bright House Networks in a separate $10.1 billion deal, pending regulatory approval.

The purchase was completed on May 18, 2016; Charter had continued to do business as Time Warner Cable in its former markets, but has now re-branded these operations under the Spectrum brand in most markets (even Charter launched this brand in 2014), though it will continue to use the roadrunner.com email addresses and adelphia.net email addresses to new customers.
