Job Overview:
The Director of Partner & Compete Strategy will come in to engage the seller community to evaluate the growth acceleration opportunities for Azure's App & Infrastructure portfolio. Looking across the current partnerships and defining the model to measure revenue acceleration, on premise to cloud partner strategies, and innovation partnerships. Additionally, this leader will define the compete best practices to support our global sales organization, and define opportunities to lead our competitive sales strategies.
We are seeking a leader who is motivated to think differently, bring different points of view to catalyze organizations, and is comfortable pitching new ideas to very senior executives. The leader has to have strong active listening and learning skills to aggregate the global voice of customer and create clarity and decisions on the critical focus areas. This leader will be responsible for leading new strategies to approach scale with partners and compete with an eye toward leading with differentiation. The core success of this leader is choosing and actioning specific proposals to drive change for incremental growth for the Azure Apps & Infra business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a small team of sales centric business leaders, chartered with accelerating the revenue opportunities for Azure Apps & Infra.
* Lead large complex challenges that span Solutions Areas for example: creating a framework for prioritizing cross-cloud solutions, creating cross company proposals to simplify complex sales process with a clear blueprint
* Engage the seller community, leaders and partner leaders to define the Apps & Infra acceleration opportunities
* Create a single point of Azure Apps & Infra into the One Commercial Partner organization
* Characterize the market opportunity, partner model, and provide executive guidance on investments and actions
* Define methodologies to measure impact of the partners on the business, report on a regular (monthly) basis
* Create a single point of Azure Apps & Infra compete for the various compete stakeholder teams in the sales organization
* Define the framework for compete operational models and make recommendations on how to mature our current models
* Build business and technical case to executive leadership on compete business models in partnership with marketing
* Create proactive differentiation strategies for compete, responding to the market and technology opportunities
* People Leadership & Culture Development: Passionate about leading people and building cultures centered on accountability and empathy.
* Experience defining scale strategies for products and platforms
* A track record of working with product, sales, and business development to drive adoption and growth
* Create alignment across organizations: Experienced working across different disciplines including finance, marketing, sales and engineering to align to shared goals.
* 10+ years experience in business and market acumen: Has experience in the cloud customer and sales models and understand the market dynamics around customers moving from on-premise to cloud
Travel: Ability to travel (10-20% travel required-including international). No travel required during COVID remote work period.
Location: Remote anywhere in the United States. Must be comfortable working with a global team who sit in different time zones.
