Role Value Proposition:

MetLife is seeking a Senior Business System Analyst - Agile to support the Shared Services team in the broader US Application Development (US AD) organization. In addition to traditional ScrumMaster responsibilities, this hybrid role will provide portfolio demand analysis and support agility transformation into a product-aligned operating model over time. This position relies heavily on expertise and ability to coach Agile ways of working, combined with a detailed knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and strong analytical/problem-solving skills. This person dreams about leading high performing teams. The primary responsibility of this role is to maximize business value by acting as a servant leader to the team during transition to and achieving maturity in Agile ways of working. They proactively communicate, build strong partnerships, relentlessly remove impediments and maintain the teams flow of work. In addition, this role will provide portfolio analysis to enable the transition to Agile ways of working. This includes assessing portfolio demand, understanding resource allocations and selecting work best fit delivery in the new product-aligned operating model.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead onshore and/or offshore scrum teams in low to moderate complexity work streams
* Help development team(s) embrace Agile values, apply Agile principles and implement Agile practices.
* Analyze portfolio of work and impact of change to current ways of working; identify, solution and implement process/system improvements.
* Lead effort to organize, model, create and validate functional analysis and design documentation.
* Facilitate transparency and a continuous learning mindset; facilitate daily standups, iteration reviews, retrospectives and iteration planning ceremonies.
* Coordinate interdependencies between dependent teams.
* Collaborate with the Product Owner to support short and long-term release planning, while maintaining a healthy team backlog ready for execution.
* Shield the teams from external interference to enable optimal functionality and productivity; proactively identify and work to remove or escalate impediments to team delivery.
* Track and report on agile team metrics; ability to report in Waterfall or Agile using tools (PowerPoint Atlassian JIRA).
* Aware of and adhere to audit/compliance requirements for execution.
* Participate in SM Community of Practice.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.
* 2+ years related experience as an Agile project team member.
* 2+ years of experience in Agile software development including coaching on Agile methodologies
* 1+ year doing either data modelling or creating API specifications or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of Agile principles, concepts and methodology; knowledge and ability to explain key differences in waterfall and agile execution
* Experience with agile toolsets, including Atlassian JIRA or similar

Preferred:

* 3+ years of experience creating use cases and data mapping for XML, JSON payloads
* Scrum Certification: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional ScrumMaster (PSM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification (SSM, SASM
