Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Graduation complete from a school of nursing and current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing to practice as a practical nurse required.
Minimum of one year medical office experience with proven display of knowledge and skills preferred.
Required Licenses
Current LPN license required
BLS required
Must possess a working knowledge of medication use and administration
Experience documenting in an electronic medical record highly recommended
Required Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, problem-solve, and handle stress in a positive manner.
Essential Functions
Performs nursing functions according to established policies and standards.
Demonstrates awareness of current state, federal, and local laws governing the delivery of care.
Collects appropriate data on each customer per policy and provides open and timely communication with customers and/or significant others identifying specific needs and providing resources as needed.
Ability and willingness to provide coverage at any Twin County Physician Practices office.
Maintains appearance and professional conduct at all times.
Maintains current licensure and continuing education requirements consistent with level and area of practice.
Performs laboratory procedures and quality controls per policy according to the centers laboratory license.
Possess the ability to maintain the medical office in a safe, cost effective manner.
Completes required in-services.
Documents all patient encounters in the electronic medical record in accordance with TCFCC policies and procedures.
Participates in the development and implementation of patient satisfaction improvements.
Performs medical procedures within the scope of practice and assists physician with procedures.
Functional Demands
Standing, sitting, walking, bending (45-90 degree angles) are required.
May require stair climbing.
Speech, hearing, and visual acuity necessary in order to perform job requirements.
Exposure to blood, body fluids and hazardous waste is moderate to frequent and must carry out universal precautions according to policy.
May be exposed to injury by irrational or disturbed customers, to customers with communicable diseases, and/or potentially dangerous equipment.
Must be able to read and write to fulfill job description.
May be exposed to bad weather if necessary to escort a customer from or to a vehicle.
