API Management product engineers enable the vision to drive frictionless development, delivery and consumption of APIs across the firm for the developer in support of JPMC global technology vision for operational excellence, modern engineering practices, enabling speed and accelerated development for the business. We build, operate and support multiple API management plants in the firm that enable the firm wide API Strategy, and cater to the needs of multiple lines of business at a global scale.
As an Infrastructure Developer Architecture and Solutions, you will be required to design, deliver and maintain, high performance, scaling and resiliency architectures for the API Management infrastructure products, as well as ensuring solutions and integrations to support variety of use case scenarios required by the business are operationally scalable, stable, and secure. You will bring in strong systems engineering skills to execute on comprehensive design/architecture asks, deliver influencing presentations to varied levels of audience architects, developers, to senior managers, in context of product architecture in multi-cloud contexts, reliability, stability, benchmarking, re-architecture, to ensure zero downtime highly available product for our businesses. You will collaborate closely with the product owners, engineering, development and reliability leads in this role, coach junior engineers on the team, and drive architecture and solution agreements across dependencies to benefit the Line of business API development teams when using API Management product infrastructure. Additionally, you will research and evaluate emerging solutions, optimizations, enhancements, make recommendations and execute as part of the engineering team. The ideal candidate must be a forward thinker to anticipate the needs of the business in API management product and be technically savvy, resourceful and be able to handle defining and implementing on any engineering tasks / processes on a day to day basis to lead by example; and Must be Self-motivated to stay updated on the industry trends as well JPMC developer requirements.
Responsibilities for this position include:
* Work closely with product owner and Engineering team to ensure product architecture is continually evolved to improve stability, scalability, security, and meets developer need for speed, while managing costs to be competitive to any equivalent offering in public clouds.
* Provider engineering & operational support (level 4) for the Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) API Management infrastructure products
* Execute/Implement PoCs with internal customers of the service and provide information as well as be able to influence teams across the organizational boundaries. Good articulation, data visualization, and presentation skills, are a must have.
* Ability to define design guidance and share with application teams to ensure adherence to best practices, processes and procedures with focus on Onboarding & delivery Speed, API performance optimizations, and efficient re-architecture or modernization of backend systems.
* Recommend, plan, coordinate, automate and implement regular software hygiene such as patching and upgrades for stability, availability, and reliability of the infrastructure
* Ensure stability and resiliency of the systems in the API Management infrastructure at all times with best of breed engineering solutions.
Required Skills:
Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience in large high performance infrastructure and systems development roles; with 3 to 5 years of relevant architecture experience.
Must demonstrate strong understanding of distributed and cloud architecture concepts
Must understand resource oriented architecture, and Restful API design concepts.
Good understanding of API Management platforms
Must be hands on at least 50% of the time to design, and develop python, or java automation capabilities for the product.
Strong presentation, product competitive analysis skills are a plus.
Troubleshoot and fix, architecture, performance, and availability issues.
Experience on Linux based systems, with Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python), Good Knowledge on Cron jobs and Shell scripting.
Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and certificates. Should be familiar with using certificates for message signing and mutual TLS and how to manage the security aspects around architecture to drive performance improvements and stability

Linux system administration skills
API Testing unit, functional, performance, capacity, and latency analysis.
AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk or ELK implementation experience (identifying KPIs to track, building dashboards, trending of data to improve performance or reliability)
Agile development team experience Kanban/Scrum.
Docker / Kubernetes experience is a plus but not required (resourceful fast learners are welcome)
AWS, GCP, or Azure public cloud infrastructure and operations
Understanding of networking concepts Subnets, load balancing (local and global), and firewalls.
Experience with Altassian product suite JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence will be required
