Job Description

Duties:

* Scoping, design, and implementation of scalable, resilient distributed systems
* Mentor other engineers and help cultivate a fast-growing team
* Cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
* Participating in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
* Analyze, design, test and implement risk components in a highly distributed, low latency platform
* Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
* Be actively involved in setting strategic direction and implementing an expanding roadmap
* Own problems end to end from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and launch
* Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
* Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
* Evolve and improve existing backend systems to meet product iteration velocity while maintaining a high quality bar
* Identify, scope and lead large technical projects with enormous impact across the company

Qualifications:

* 8+ years of experience, preferably in a similar position with another financial institution for the last 5 years.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and developing complex Java enterprise applications in medium to large scale IT Projects.
* Strong design and coding experience with proven ability to deliver
* Demonstrates exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with Wealth Management and Finance methodologies will be preferred
* Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
* Drive to learn new technologies and apply them pragmatically
* Ability to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines in a very competitive environment.

Education Requirements:

Computer Science Bachelor / Computer Science Engineer degree

Technical Qualifications:

* Experience with Java/J2EE Application Development.
* Experience with Asynchronous message processing using IBM MQ/JMS.
* Experience consuming large volumes of data using multi-threaded/parallel processing.
* Experience implementing Micro Service architecture for distributed applications.
* Experience deploying applications onto the Cloud platform.
* Experience with UI/Web application development using JavaScript, AngularJS, and ReactJS.
* Experience implementing SOA architecture using RESTFul/SOAP WebServices and Messaging.
* Experience in Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Integrations.
* Experience working in Machine Learning and Data Science projects
* Experience with AWS, Dockers and Kubernates.
* Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
* Knowledge of Git, Maven and Jenkins or TeamCity
* Experience of an Agile development methodology such as Scrum
* Experience with Project Management, PMBOK from PMI
