The Xeon Engineering Group (XEG) Group is searching for an energetic and driven physical design team member to tackle the planning, design, and verification of design components underlying Xeon-class SOCs on cutting-edge process nodes.

We are looking for someone passionate both about physical design and about continuous improvement of approach, technology, and work model in solving complex design and convergence challenges. The candidate should have experience in and motivation to delve deeply into technical challenges, work effectively with others to achieve convergence, and a drive to continually improve efficiency and productivity.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Design block floorplanning, physical design, and verification/qualification
* Working with SoC team to optimize the IP to meet product requirements
* Working with design experts to close timing with required layout and timing ECOs
* Contributing to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits
* Performing all aspects of the SoC physical design flow: synthesis, full chip and block floorplanning, synthesis, place and route, timing and power assessment to create a design database that is ready for manufacturing
* Working with others to negotiate and manager design and methodology interdependencies

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field of study with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in SOC/system design/verification. OR a MS degree is preferred:

Your experience must include the following:

* Familiarity with Silicon-based product development
* Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team to deliver a product starting from establishment of design specs, and through design, verification, and ultimately tapeout preparation
* Proficient scripting/coding skills in one or more modern languages

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with ASIC-based designs
* Experience implementing new flows based on industry standard tools
* Experience implementing and working with multiple fabs and technology nodes
* RTL coding experience
* Automation and coding skills
