OPW ENGINEERED SYSTEMS JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Assembler (Third Shift) Status: Hourly

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Summary
Perform repetitive work-station operations to produce valves, couplers, loading arms and ancillary products using blueprints in a machine shop environment. Perform functional test of all assemblies in accordance with the accepted test procedures. Maintain and monitor test equipment as necessary to ensure continued accuracy.

Must be available to work all night shift hours. Core night shift hours are currently from 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM and during overtime the start time may move up to 8:00 PM.

Essential Functions

1. Assemble products using hand or power tools.
2. Read and understand blueprints, tape measures, and gauges.
3. Operate a mass flow tester.
4. Clean, assemble, disassemble and replace parts as needed.
5. Operate pallet jack or overhead crane to move parts and products.
6. Ensure work area is clean and free of safety hazards.
7. Keep production leadership advised of problems and progress as related to work assignments.
8. Perform additional duties as requested by supervision.

5. Working knowledge of hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic powered tools

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred Education and Experience

Certificate or diploma from a trade or vocational school with a mechanical focus.
