What Materials Management contributes to Cardinal Health

* Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure products are available when needed to satisfy the customer requirements.

Schedule: 1st shift: Four 10hr. Days 5:00am 3:30pm Wednesday - Saturday

Responsibilities include:

* Leading a team of 8 associates
* Linen Delivery
* Package delivery throughout all of Main Campus
* Answering phones
* Placing orders
* Delivering expedited orders to Hospital Floor
* Communication between multiple shifts and associates, etc.

Accountabilities

* Responsible for cross-training in multiple areas of the hospital including picking, unloading containers, answering phones, linen and package delivery to various floors of the hospital etc.
* Ability to work quickly and efficiently delivering products to various floors of the hospital
* Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, nurses, and equipment technicians
* Responsible to lead a team of 6+ and ensure all tasks are completed quickly and efficiently.
* Responsible for communicating any and all problems to the next shift as well as your direct supervisors.
* Ability to be flexible and able to cover days when there are call offs or vacations.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED Preferred
* 1 - 2 years related experience (in a hospital environment) preferred
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
* Ability to consistently lift 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required
* Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice
* Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the hospital
* Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Healths EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
* Aptitude to work in a fast paced hospital environment while meeting hourly established quotas and performance standards
* Self-motivated with ability to work in a positive team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on customer satisfaction
* Ability to comprehend and accurately process paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures
* Familiarity with Microsoft office products, general computer skills and RF scanners desired
* Flexibility/adaptability coupled with good multi-tasking skills
* Ability to problem solve setting your team up for success on a nightly basis.
* Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.

What is expected of you and others at this level

* Must be able to work 2nd shift, Sunday - Wednesday 11AM - 9:30PM or until work is complete
* Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks quickly and efficiently.
* Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area
* Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
* Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution
* Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
* Adheres to all quality guidelines
* Works under moderate degree of supervision
* Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
* Ability to work overtime as needed
* Open to cross training to any and all positions to increase team flexibility.
* To be accountable that all tasks are complete each and every night.
