Job Description
Mechanical Engineer
Key Role:
Work with a small, multifunctional team to design, analyze, and procure custom and vendor hardware. Work in all stages of a part lifecycle in a development environment with evolving requirements. Apply engineering physics as well as engineering mathematics and materials science principles to supporting the design, analysis, manufacturing, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor team members.
Basic Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in an engineering design role
* Knowledge of 3D CAD design software, including SolidWorks
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience with creating technical drawings
* Experience with a gated design process
* Experience with new product development
* Experience with scoping, designing, and conducting component and subsystem testing
* Experience with Source Controlled Drawings and build to specification hardware
* Experience with using the Agile framework and the sprint / scrum approach to project management
* Knowledge of thermal management systems
* MA or MS degree
