This is a full time, hourly position
Position Summary
The Packer position is responsible for filling and stacking material into bags, sacks or boxes of product.
Job Responsibilities:
* Sets up packer with correct information to fill and seal bags according to schedule
* Stacks bags and ensures that they are the correct weight with correct information
* Assembles, fills, samples and hauls totes or super sacks and ensures that they are the correct weight with the correct information
* Takes magnet samples and delivers to lab
* Cleans bins, legs, conveyors, Sweco, dumper and packer and fills out proper documentation
* Sets up jet printers with correct information
* Operates control panel board
* Performs daily housekeeping list and cleans pack area
* Cleans, prepares and loads bulk trailers
* Follows all safety, GMP, plant rules and policies
* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Education/Training
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
