The Audio-Video (AV) Install Engineer is a lead role and is responsible for owning and managing the AmerisourceBergen AV and Conferencing installation process. This includes co-ordination, management and oversight of the physical installation and commissioning of standard to complex AV room systems across the enterprise, working closely with our AV install vendor/partner.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Manage and own simultaneous AV install projects across multiple global locations for the enterprise.
2. Become the SME for our product offerings in this space (Conference Rooms and Conferencing, Room Scheduling, Digital Signage, Live Stream etc.)
3. Collaborate across multiple teams to ensure successful delivery of results based on scope of work.
4. Work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple work streams of AV install projects.
5. Offer expertise and use sound judgement in designing complex audio-visual integrated rooms, command centers etc. in collaboration with the AV partner/vendor.
6. Work in collaboration with the business requestors to translate AV solutions into proposals, including system design functionality, diagrams, and specifications.
7. Create, maintain and communicate technical documentation and business summaries regularly.
8. Provide time estimates, budget forecasting and project scopes for related projects.
9. Identify project risks and potential solutions with minimizing impact.
10. Ability to analyze and interpret AV system and line drawings.
11. Provide direction to AV field operations team as needed.
What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires training in fields such as Project Management, AV, Multimedia, Electrical Engineering or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills; effective team player who can collaborate across various teams to get the job done.
2. Excellent Project Management skill is a must. Certification is a plus.
3. Understanding of current AV trends and conferencing services. CTS-I/D certification is a plus.
4. In-depth knowledge of AV network and structured cabling, along with construction pre-requisites.
5. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills - Own a problem and see it through till the end.
6. Ability to work and develop a strong relationship with the AV partner/vendor is required.
7. Ability to work independently and can effectively manage stress.
8. Ability to translate highly technical issues into something that a business customer can relate to.
9. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to manage customer expectation and minimize management escalation.
11. Good understanding of budgeting and ability to deliver frequent project updates to a variety of audience.
12. Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines.
13. Will require to travel at major project sites. Estimated at 25% travel time.
14. Experience using project management tools and ticketing system.
