TITLE: Senior Specialist, Internet/Web Applications
LOCATION: Newark, NJ
DUTIES: Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing Teams, UX designers, other technology and architecture teams. Develop quality front-end applications in an agile environment and create prototypes and POCs (Proof of Concept) to validate, promote, and define the technology strategies. Use industry standard tools and components in achieving a high throughput of code. Utilize tools, programs and languages including IDEs (Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse), JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5 (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets), SASS (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets), Angular JS, Angular 2.0+, Protractor, Jasmine, Karma, JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), Rest Web Services, Typescript, ES6, NPM (Node Package Manager), Bower, Gulp, Grunt, Webpack, Browserify, Git Based Source Control Systems, and Subversion. Review stories to ensure that they are accurate and actionable. Estimate the effort required to complete the feature or features described in the story. Write tests using the TDD method of development and write code to pass the test written in the TDD. Participate in the daily SCRUM with the rest of the development team. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that the feature is bug free and ready for deployment. Participate in the release process at the end of the sprint. Participate in the post sprint retroactive to identify what improvements can be made to the process during the upcoming sprint. Participate in code reviews both peer to peer and team code reviews. Work closely with the cross BUs and Tech Teams. Conduct emergency production level troubleshooting.
REQTS: Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Systems Science, or a related field. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, Web/ UI Developer, Web Developer, or a related position. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Masters degree in the stated fields and three (3) years of experience. The employer will accept pre- and post-Masters degree experience. Any combination of education and experience is acceptable. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with: HTML/HTML5; CSS/CSS3; JavaScript; jQuery; AJAX; Angular; Node; Node JS; Node Package Manager; Oracle; JSON; Bootstrap; REST API; Postman; Font Awesome; SVN; GITHUB; Responsive Web Design; CSS Media Queries; Webpack; Jasmine; Karma; and Legacy Browser Support.
HOURS: Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hours/week)
