Management of the day-to-day Manufacturing Engineering operations at the plant level. New product equipment launch and support and improvement of existing equipment. Reports to the Operations Manager. Manager will have direct supervision of Manufacturing Engineers, maintenance technician, and fabrication machinist. Interacts routinely with all functional areas as well as with customers and suppliers.
-Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing/ production principles and techniques to areas of production. -Responsible for process and equipment safety, ensure all equipment is adequately guarded and ergonomically correct. -Responsible to resolve safety issues identified by team and others. -Ensure assy equipment is operational and improvement of equipment up-time. - Implement mistake proofing to existing equipment to reduce internal and customer rejects. -Responsible for development of assy equipment to support new product launches. -Ownership of PFMEA and DFM/ DFA activities. -Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. -Determine root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiment, SPC) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods. -Research and prepare capital acquisition (AFE) for the plant equipment requirements. -Document ownership of equipment specifications/ drawings and troubleshooting guides and process work instruction.
-B.S. Degree in an Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering or other Engineering. -5+ Years of Engineering or related experience. -Management experience of direct reports. -Knowledge of manufacturing and quality practices. -Experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis). -Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills. -Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skill.
