Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Electronics Engineering 2 -Comms amp; Payloads Engineering Manager S02 reporting to the Electronics amp; Payload Department Manager under System Engineering Electronics amp; Payloads (SEEP) for the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE). This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

Your role will be the Functional Homeroom (FHR) Section Manager (SM) to program communication engineers, ensuring they have sufficient statement of work, managing member performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers), coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/destaffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and ensuring their members are familiar with and use required engineering processes and tools. The candidate need to have experience with the integration and test of aviation related communications systems or component sub-systems, RF Line of Sight, SATCOM, Payloads, and tactical network design, installation and troubleshooting experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

bull;Ensuring members have sufficient statement of work, making decisions regarding awards, balancing resources among programs, and verifying proper charging practices are followed

bull;Managing member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)

bull;Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/destaffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs

bull;Making sure members are familiar with and use required engineering processes and tools

bull;Meeting indirect budget targets and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization.

bull;Interacting and coordinating with responsible communications or payloads engineers responsible for sustaining communication sub-systems.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university and 9 years of experience or 7 years of experience with Masters or 5 years with PhD

Excellent presentation and computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Previous experience in activities related to Comms amp; Payloads.

Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain amp; maintain SAR/SAP access prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor rsquo;s degree in STEM from an accredited university with 10+ years rsquo; experience, 7+ years with a Masters, or 5+ years with PhD.

Experience working with DoD Customer counterparts, building strong relationships and clear requirements.

Experience in establishing and executing a staffing plan to support the achievement of programmatic and contractual goals.

Active DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain amp; maintain SAR/SAP access.

Experience working in current SAP/SAR programs.
