This internship is responsible for supporting senior engineers at Northrop Grumman rsquo;s Gilbert, AZ. campus. Operations are performed i n a manufacturing production environment where Mechanical Engineers coordinate and oversee mechanical build and production operations performed by the technical staff.

Responsibilities Include:

* Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
* Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Basic Qualifications:
The Ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor 39;s degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant course work. Experience using MES is a plus and will be required for daily activities. This position may require off hour shift work, weekend work, and extended daily hours to meet production demands. Knowledge of basic 3D Modeling, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Tool Control helpful but not required. An understanding of ESD, FOD, and 5S processes desired. TipQA, Windchill, MES, Costpoint, and CREO preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate should be capable of interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications, must possess good technical writing skills, display leadership skills, and possess excellent interpersonal skills with written communication ability. The candidate must have the ability to support on time and on-budget product delivery by establishing and monitoring daily production goals, recognizing and reducing/eliminating non value operations, support lean principals for process improvements, and support performance metrics regarding quality, delivery, and cost.
