Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer ndash; Modeling and Simulation to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida

The Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Modeling and Simulation will provide technical simulation development and analysis for the STRIKE program rsquo;s operational analysis efforts to support program development, program execution, and related research and development projects. This position will help lead a team performing system analysis, operational analysis, and simulation activities. JR-LI3

Essential Functions:

* Performing military requirements analysis, threat system analysis, system survivability analysis, mission performance/effectiveness analysis, military utility
* Lead a team providing and performing modeling, simulation, and analysis to support program development, execution, and related research and development projects
* Develop or assess new requirements and evaluate advanced air vehicle concepts and technologies
* Lead mission engineering activities to ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements, develop mission relevant scenarios, and assess the operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in the threat environment
* Communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers

Qualification

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer ndash; Modeling and Simulation

* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 5 years of experience OR Master rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 3 years of experience OR PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 0 years of systems of experience of operations analysis/software engineering experience and technical depth in one or more of the following areas:
* Low observables
* Electronic warfare
* Radar modeling/analysis
* IR/EO/Acoustic Modeling/Analysis
* Survivability Analysis
* Countermeasures
* Demonstrated technical proficiency of SUPPRESSOR
* An active, in scope DoD Top Secret clearance with issue or reinvestigation in the last 6 years
* The ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the program to meet business objectives

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer ndash; Modeling and Simulation

* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of experience OR Master rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 7 years of experience OR PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 4 years of systems of experience of operations analysis/software engineering experience and technical depth in one or more of the following areas:
* Low observables
* Electronic warfare
* Radar modeling/analysis
* IR/EO/Acoustic Modeling/Analysis
* Survivability Analysis
* Countermeasures
* Demonstrated technical proficiency of SUPPRESSOR
* An active, in scope DoD Top Secret clearance with issue or reinvestigation in the last 6 years
* The ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the program to meet business objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master rsquo;s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
* Working knowledge in various aspects of advanced air and space assets (air vehicle, ground station, operations, sensor payloads, and/or communications) and associated technologies
* Ability to work both independent and in a team in a fast-paced environment, and brief technical approach and status to senior management
* Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix-based development
* Knowledge of domain specific radar principles, including signal processing, target acquisition, target tracking, resource management, discrimination, and battle manager interfaces
* Technical proficiency related to sensors (RF, EO/IR, radar, ESM, SAR, etc.), data processing/fusion, data links, navigation, or vehicle control
* Proficiency in MATLB, FORTRAN, Perl, Python, C, C/C++, or other advanced programming languages
* Experience leading projects through the system engineering lifecycle including SRR, PDR, and CDR
* Technical proficiency in USAF modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, ESAMS, STK, or other engagement or mission level models
