Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Software Engineer with the Software Engineering organization based out of Redondo Beach, CA.
This role is for a Test Set Software Engineer to support the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) suite of test sets, specifically, the TCTS (Telemetry and Command Test Set). The candidate will be part of a small EGSE Team supporting P093 TCTS requirements, design, and development. Additionally, the role will also support maintenance activities as required by the program.
Responsibilities include test set requirements definition, design, architecture, development, I amp;T, delivery, and support. In this role, the candidate will interface with hardware RDEs, systems administrators, vendors, ops crew and test conductors, in order to execute test set tasks as required during the full life cycle. The SW Engineer focuses primarily on TCTS, however other test sets within the EGSE suite may also require support. Position may require some travel.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar STEM Degree
* Minimum of 5 years software development experience OR 3 years with a Master rsquo;s Degree OR 0 years with PhD
* Programming experience in C, C++ and Windows 10/Visual Studio
* Ability to travel 10% to support offsite operations
* Ability to work on-call/extended hours (1-3 times a year)
* Active TS and/or SCI clearance
* Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
* Dept. of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR Dept. of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Preferred Qualifications:
* Good understanding of basic networking concepts, REST, UART, 1553
* Troubleshoot and debug software amp; hardware
* Work effectively in a small team. Willing to take on challenges and take initiative to resolve issues.
