SSSD has an opening for a Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Description:

The Industrial Engineer supports the Industrial Engineering and Scheduling organization in process, systems and integration projects. Have an understanding of Industrial Engineering and Production Scheduling. Knowledge and understanding of master production scheduling, material requirements planning, manufacturing business systems. Have an understanding of the SAP ERP system with emphasis on scheduling and capacity planning and integration. This individual will understand all operational process, investigate and recommend improvements to implement changes to enterprise scheduling systems. Individual will interpret capacity analysis and incorporate into what-if scenario simulations before applying to project schedule for review.

Responsibilities/Skills Requirements:

* Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals
* Formulas used for calculations needed to setup SAP Work Centers/Capacity Data
* Time Standards, Scheduling, Earned Value principles
* Understanding of the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc)
* Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain
* Experience with project and manufacturing schedules
* Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)
* Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
* Work with functional team to understand scheduling requirements at implementation site
* Work with business systems integration group to design and implement process improvements that require system configuration or modifications
* Work with business systems integration group on system tool installation and preliminary test
* Supports data clean-up within the SAP MRP system
* Provide functional support during the blueprinting phase for system pilots
* Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
* Documentation of process and system problems/resolution for future reference
* Support system mock testing and go-live preparation
* Functional on-site team supporting pilot site go live, troubleshoot and resolve systems implementation issues
* Possess strong organizational, planning and decision making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different
* Technical backgrounds
* Effective verbal and written communications skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and self-starter
* Ability to present (PowerPoint, speaking in front of upper management, technical presentations vs overviews)
* Ability to visualize and layout routings (Flow chart, Excel, etc)

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
Bachleors of Science

5 years engineering experience to include background in any of the following: SAP, ERP, MRP systems

Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Shop Floor Control Systems

Experience with Discrete Event Simulation Software

Current in scope DoD Secret Clearance
