Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Staff Guidance Computer Product Engineering Lead. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:
GBSD has an opening for a Lead Product Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual in this role will provide technical oversight and leadership for the mechanical packaging design of the Guidance Computer (GC) flight unit and the Guidance Computer Emulator Unit (GCEU).

The GC is a high reliability, radiation hardened flight controller for the GBSD Aerospace Vehicle (AVE). The GCEU is a COTS-based hardware emulation of the GBSD AVE flight Guidance Computer used in various laboratory testbed applications for early system and software Integration amp; Test activities. The GBSD Guidance Computer contains digital processing, digital I/O, and analog actuator/power I/O electronics functions. Responsibilities include oversight of and coordination for mechanical design and analysis using computer-aided design (CAD), conducting packaging trades, tolerance and interference analyses, generating drawing packages and associated electronic data, and supporting the fabrication, assembly and test of the hardware. This position reports directly to the Guidance Computer IPT Lead.

This position rsquo;s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

You rsquo;ll Bring These Qualifications:
bull; A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment, or a Master rsquo;s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 12 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
bull; 3D CAD and mechanical design experience
bull; Experience leading a team
bull; Proficiency in performing tolerance and interference analyses
bull; Experience with electronic packaging and mechanical design for High Reliability, Rad Hard space and missile applications
bull; Experience with electronics design development and sustainment spanning the full life cycle
bull; Proficiency with electrical design, electronics manufacturing processes, and qualification activities
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
bull; Experience working with different partners across organizations and programs
bull; Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter
bull; Experience with or knowledge of analytical or finite element modeling (FEM) tools
bull; Proficiency with electrical design, electronics manufacturing processes, and qualification activities
bull; Earned Value and/or Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
bull; Experience working on an Agile team or even as a Scrum Master
