Job Description
Manpower is seeking an Electronics Technician for a Hampton electronics manufacturer. The selected candidate will be responsible for final assembly/setup and test/calibration of solid state vacuum instruments. Determine project configuration (to-build) from customer order information and production controls. Detect quality issues and initiate corrective action. Will work with the Vacuum Product Supervisor to reduce costs and raise efficiencies of processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and calibration.
Troubleshoot vacuum instruments.
Operate test equipment including voltmeters, ohmmeters, current meters, etc.
Read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
Solder and unsolder components, if needed.
Repair printed circuit boards populated with small surface mount components and through hole components.
Use basic small hand tools and small power tools.
Inspect, test and clean all finished instruments prior to shipment.
Maintains all work related equipment and test fixtures.
Regular and predictable attendance and adherence to schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and/or training.
Minimum of 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in troubleshooting analog, digital and electro mechanical circuits to component level.
Must be able to repair printed circuit boards populated with small surface mount and through hole components.
Must be able to read and comprehend schematics and mechanical drawings.
Must have experience with soldering/desoldering equipment.
Must be able to use test and measuring equipment including digital multi-meters and oscilloscope
Vacuum equipment/instrumentation operation a plus.
Must be able to use communication software and equipment to include email, multi-line phone and fax machine.
Strong reading and writing skills.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
Quality control experience desired.
Experience in ISO 9001 environment, preferred.
