Primary purpose:

* As a member of the Account Services group in the Kinder Morgan Midstream organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining contractual, pricing, and transactional level information for various product types (gas, oil, condensate, NGL) covered under a wide spectrum of agreements (purchase, sale, transport, storage, treating, gathering, gas processing, balancing, etc.).

Essential duties and responsibilities:

* Works closely with Marketing, Contract Administration, Scheduling, Accounting, Legal, and IT to ensure all transactions are fully and accurately captured
* Requires accurate/efficient nomination, price and rate entry as well as detailed analysis to maintain special pricing terms and formulas
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential to successfully manage complex transactions
* Ensures that prices/rates loaded for billing and consistent with executed contract language
* Maintenance and update of all relevant index publications and postings as well as all inflationary indices used to settle agreements processed in multiple system applications.
* Develop thorough understanding of proprietary DART system, and running required reports and summaries with regard to contract information, rates and charges, penalties, cash out etc.
* Participate in development and testing of processes in DART relating to Midstream Account Services processes.
* Critical hands-on work reviewing and providing feedback on the various contracts being negotiated
* Troubleshoots issues when data does not interface to downstream systems and communicates/coordinates resolution with affected stakeholders
* Processes and analyzes multiple ad hoc queries and canned system reports used to identify discrepancies
* Researches and resolves customer inquiries and anticipated/prevents potential future issues
* Validates time-sensitive third party transaction confirmations against system data and coordinates with account managers to resolve differences in a timely manner
* Researches and responds timely to internal and external data requests
* Helps coordinate audit requests and provides necessary support to satisfy these requests
* Analyzes data to provide updated forecast information and researches/responds to flash vs actual variances
* Extracts/analyzes data to satisfy various governmental reporting requirements
* Provides training and assistance to team members and other departments
* Assists the team in problem resolution and project work as well as systems design and testing
* Evaluates and makes recommendations on process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
* Verifies data set-up in systems for compliance with ASC 606 and related SOX requirements
* Job level will commensurate with experience and industry knowledge.

Position Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Direct related work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience / specific knowledge:

* Job level commensurate with experience/skill set in the energy industry within the deal/rate capture or accounting/invoicing departments
* Ability to achieve results with accuracy, a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail
* Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks under stringent deadlines with an emphasis on organizing and prioritizing workload
* Keen analytical skills to successfully troubleshoot and resolve issues
* Familiarity with NAESB and non-standard contracts with emphasis on sales, purchase, transport, storage, gathering and processing agreements and their underling deal/rate structure
* Ability to review draft contact language to verify charges are processed systematically, identify exceptions and provide recommendations and alternative solutions prior to execution of the agreement
* Must be able to work within a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules and focus attention on details
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to develop positive working relationships with other departments to more closely integrate front, mid and back office processes
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to persuasively present ideas and results to peers and management
* Aptitude for documenting business procedures and systems test cases with an acute ability to discern exceptions
* Occasional overtime may be required during bidweek, systems testing and major projects

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

* Prior exposure with the current systems applications (DART, TIES, TIPS, QLM)
* Ability to develop ad hoc queries and reports
* Project management and systems project experience
* Plant processing experience
