Job Description

Sr. Utilities Mechanic (Chillers/Compressor/Boilers)

Essential Functions:

* Perform annual and semi-annual preventive maintenance and repair service work on water cooled and air-cooled chiller systems including cooling towers and pumps.
* Perform annual and semi-annual preventive maintenance and repair service work on High- and Low-pressure air compressor systems including cooling towers and pumps.
* Conduct energy audits to identify where system and operational changes can be made to decrease the propertys energy consumption
* Actively review, observe and monitor equipment function and operation.
* Provide technical assistance and support to various work teams within a geographic region in order to increase the skills and capabilities of team members
* Conduct building evaluations and make recommendations so operational improvements can be incorporated

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

* Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on a variety of chiller manufacturers, air compressor manufactures, cooling towers, pumps, motors using industry standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations
* Possess knowledge of codes, laws, and regulations affecting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations with the ability to articulate any deficiencies and make recommendations to remedy such deficiencies
* Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite), skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications, and ability to use handheld electronic devices.
* Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
* Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
* Cross training to support utility operations and maintenance.

Working Environment:

* The position is plant based and supporting various locations within a specified campus
* Will require daily interaction with local engineering teams in person, on the phone, and via email in order to perform the job
* Weekend and overtime work as required.

Minimum Required Education:

* Minimum of 10 years experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs with a focus on hands-on chiller / air compressor repair & maintenance
* Successful completion of vocation degree program, apprenticeship, and/or comparable work experience
* Possess Universal EPA Certification
