Finance Manager, Platform & Marketplace (P&M)

P&M is building the platform that will enable what is next in travel. The Finance Manager will drive decision support analysis and financial management for License & Maintenance (L&M) spend at Expedia. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Finance, the Finance Manager will work closely with technical leaders and Finance team members across Expedia to enable financial insight, meaningful analysis, and timely reporting.

Success in this role will include effective communication, understanding the business, and going to get whats next. The Finance Manager is a key partner that will optimize the investment in L&M while embracing our values and looking for ways to force simplicity while driving continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

* Partner with business leaders and Finance teams to develop a deep understanding of business levers driving L&M spend and identify opportunities to increase value across the organization

* Understand key business drivers and provide management with accurate, timely, and relevant information to help influence decision making

* Utilize solid financial skills and business knowledge to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results and drive improvement

* Create weekly/monthly/quarterly analytics and reporting, variance and trend analysis for L&M spend that provide meaningful insights

* Deliver L&M forecasts for Expedia incorporating the latest on current business trends and operational initiates while working to align with Finance teams across the company

* Evaluate actual business results and performance relative to forecast with the objective of improving accuracy, confirming alignment with strategic direction, and understanding risks and opportunities

* Perform ad-hoc analyses in a timely and insightful manner

* Identify and implement process and reporting enhancements to drive insight

* Be flexible in a dynamic work environment and be willing to do what it takes to help the team win

* Communicate complex financial information and concepts to Finance and business leaders

* Support monthly financial close process working with Accounting on accruals and expense recognition

Who you are:

* 6+ years of experience in a Finance discipline (FP&A, Business Unit Finance, Accounting) that includes forecasting, analysis, and reporting

* Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience in Finance

* Advanced analytic, modeling, forecasting, and reporting skills

* Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SQL, Oracle, Hyperion and Essbase preferred

* Results driven, highly motivated, and curious with a can do attitude and willingness to learn

* Highly collaborative, ability to build and maintain close working relationships with teams across Expedia

* Ability to work independently and think strategically

* Solid communication skills, both verbal and written

* Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity

* Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

* Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

* Experience in a travel, technology, or e-commerce organization
