GI Lab Registered Nurse Full-time Monday-Friday 9A - 5:30P with Call Rotation

Applying the standards set forth for nursing practice by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Endoscopy RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for patients undergoing a GI procedure.

Administer and maintain sedation and analgesia and monitor the patient throughout the procedure

Perform necessary technical skills as delineated through education, expertise, and unit requirements

Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice

The GI Lab is a 4-room procedural unit that provides both inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and interventions. Approximately seventy-five percent of the patient population are outpatients and twenty-five percent are inpatients. Clinical procedures and interventions performed include upper endoscopy (EGD), bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS).

Qualifications

What you need to be successful:

ADN required / BSN preferred

Texas RN license or compact license is accepted

Current BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Must have at least one (1) year Endo RN experience in an acute care hospital
