Manager(RN) Intensive Care Unit

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is a tertiary acute care 342 bed hospital that has been serving the community for more than 75 years. It provides a 24-hour designated Level II trauma center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, cardiac care services, womens center, daVinci robotic surgery, neurosciences, pediatric care, rehabilitation therapy, sleep center, radiology, hyperbaric medicine, diagnostic/imaging services, and wound care facility.

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

Under the general supervision of the Director, the Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for all functions of the unit. In collaboration with the Nurse Director and members of the Medical Staff, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the Unit by all levels of practitioners.

* Initiates, guides, and directs the coordination of all Unit functions.
* Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
* Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by the unit.
* Makes decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, Department of Nursing Standards, , collaborating with the Director in unusual situations

Qualifications

What qualification you will need:

* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.

* Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing, BSN required

* Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice in provision of clinical nursing of the adult intensive care patient with emphasis on leadership and management experience.

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course ( BLS or BCLS) and certification required

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification required
