As a Recreational Therapist in Behavioral Health at our facility you will be joining a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role:

* You will develop and implement activities for patients to help foster self-awareness, increase social skills, and promote healthy creativity to effectively reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and manage behaviors.
* You will be responsible for assessing patient needs and completing patient assessments.
* You will plan and implement regular groups to meet the needs of patients.
* You will evaluate and document treatment goals and outcomes related to groups and patient involvement.
* You will review assessments and other activities performed by technicians and assist in the supervision and mentoring of Recreational Therapy interns and new Recreational Therapists.

Qualifications

License/Certification:

* Current Utah state Recreational Therapist or Music Therapist license

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

Education:

* Minimum of four year Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Therapeutic Recreation or Music Therapy

Experience:

* Mental Health and/or chemical dependency experience of one year preferred
