Job Description

Position Summary

The Media + Production Specialist is a hybrid role that combines media management, technical production and event coordination, reporting into the Director of Media + Production on the Global Events and Brand Activation team. This position requires understanding and knowledge of current broadcast and digital media specifications, as well as streaming and virtual event solutions. The Specialist should have the ability to create content, a dedicated work ethic, and the ability to build relationships with the family of Discovery networks and Corporate functions. Day to day work includes digital media sourcing, file organization, transcoding and live event administrative needs for internal and external events, both virtually and in person. The Specialist will also contribute to high-level presentations and company initiatives. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in maintaining a corporate archive and tracking of media assets across the company.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and produce virtual events from pre-production through post (tech checks, platform management, show calling, media playback and archive)
Identify and select technical equipment and platform based off of event goals and audience
Current Industry knowledge of production companies, ability to create + review production quotes
Create Media Delivery Guides for networks based on playback format
Supports Global Events team with pre-production, event activation and post-production needs with file management, content organization + media playback
Work with Global Talent Management team to communicate and coordinate solutions with network talent and production partners
Create content for playback that aligns with the corporate, network, and event brand
Editing of event recordings
Coordinate the digital archive process and provide an accessible and easy to use archival library systems for the events team and corporate communications
Knowledge of the A/V and technology industry and latest innovations in order to provide competitive and creative solutions
Requirements

3-5 years of A/V or technical production experience
Knowledge of various playback platforms and streaming protocols
Must be a flexible, focused and energetic team player with commitment to high-quality deliverables
Dedication to quality, sense of urgency, and ability to thrive under pressure
Flexibility, outstanding organizational skills, and a creative approach to problem solving
Strong written and oral communications skills
Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Knowledge of 3D modeling, CAD drawings, and to scale renderings
Technical and creative skills in building decks/presentation and troubleshooting presentation software (Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Suite of Apps, etc.)
Experience with social media tools and production integration
Ability to work at a fast pace under strict deadlines
Post-Production and/or technical production field and studio experience a plus
Demonstrates expertise with production and applicable technology concepts
Must be able to engage in travel on an as-needed basis
Must be able to conduct business during non-business hours, including weekends, when necessary and be on call as needed
Bachelors Degree in related field
Ability to lift 50lbs
