Job Description

The Financial Strategy and Solutions Group (FSG) is the analytical and quantitative corporate finance advisory team in Citis Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory division. It plays a central role in developing relationships with many of the firm's most sophisticated clients across all sectors, by:

serving as the firm's thought leader on global trends affecting clients

advising corporate and financial institution clients globally on the full spectrum of corporate finance issues (valuation, capital structure, credit ratings, risk management, liability management, shareholder distributions, and acquisition and funding strategies)

working in partnership with Citis product and industry experts to designs innovative solutions to assist clients, then working closely in the mandating and execution phases of some of the most complex transactions completed by the bank

The Global Head of FSG is a senior management position responsible for setting the strategy that enables FSG and BCMA to be the best possible financial partner to its institutional clients. As its leader, the Global Head is expected to deliver these results through senior client relationships, effective management of the FSG team and the firms resources, coordination with product partners and other stakeholders across the firm and focus on risks and controls. A one BCMA mindset is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities
work in a strategic advisory capacity with clients across sectors and geographies
advise senior decision makers of Citi's platinum clients around the globe, including C-suite executives and Corporate boards
drive thought leadership on complex corporate finance issues including M&A and risk management
work with internal product and coverage partners to understand regional and emerging market trends, allowing them to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision to their clients, thus building and maintaining Trusted Advisor relationship status with clients
drive the development of client relationships through identification of emerging trends that affect corporations, and advise on risk management, distribution policy, shareholder activism, credit ratings and other complex issues
participate in M&A and capital raising transactions (including equity, investment grade and leveraged debt financing) by working closely with clients, industry teams, capital markets, and M&A professionals
advise Citis senior management to ensure the banks capital management strategies are effective, efficient and drive a healthy balance between near-term and long-term priorities
escalate, manage and report control issues, as well as supervise the activity of direct & matrix reports as well as the broader team to create accountability with those who fail to maintain the banks high standards

manage the global staff of the group and develop talent for the firm

set staffing priorities

review and rank Managing Director staff in the group, while also determining Directors that should be considered for promotion
exhibit ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
expected to deliver thought leadership on corporate finance topics in frequent speaking engagements at industry conferences and at various Citi forums

Qualifications:
20+ years of relevant experience
proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities
provide global oversight across regional FSG teams
in-depth experience advising clients at the C-suite
demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time
proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Graduate degree required from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
