Job Description
- Accountable for clinical data review and analysis for complex, global projects collated from various data sources formatted in various industry standards (HL7, FHIR, C-CDA, JSON etc.)
- Understand healthcare data, including clinical data in both proprietary and industry standard formats (FHIR, C-CDA etc.) and develop mappings and transformation solution between various formats.
- Apply proven clinical data experience to be able to profile and answer questions about the quality of clinical data, investigate outliers and trends in the data.
- Apply Knowledge of state and federal guidelines on privacy, HIPAA, transactions and security to Clinical data framework
- Support data standards such as (SNOMED CT, RXNorm, LOINC, UCUM, ICD, CPT, CVX etc), including HL7 and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) efforts for a rapidly growing segment of federal health business in clinical data.
- Support business and data engineering in creating a comprehensive clinical reference data library, keeping it up-to-date and maintaining
- Be accountable for scaling up our clinical data capabilities as we scale our initiatives.
- Understand diverse clinical data sources, identify data quality issues and identify/define business rules to standardize and conform them.
- Solicit, clarify business level requirements, analyze data requirements and break them down into detailed user stories that can be consumed by scrum teams
- Able to communicate accurate and timely project status, issues, risks and scope changes
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the clinical field, preferably as an RN or in a Physicians office working with clinical data and EMRs/EHRs
- 3+ years experience working with clinical data code sets and/or standards like HL7, CCDAs or FHIR
- 3+ years experience with data profiling and mapping tools working in a healthcare data management system environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience designing and developing physician reports or dashboards using clinical data
- Preferred experience working on data engineering team
- Preferred understanding and/or experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Preferred experience with data validation and data acceptance testing
- 3+ years experience working with clinical data and understanding of analytics and how it is leveraged within the healthcare industry
- 3+ years experience working in cross functional initiatives communicating effectively and confidently with business partners, project team members and senior management
Education
Required: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in clinical or medical sciences or nursing
