Leica is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join us in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a phenomenal role for a talented and driven individual. Primarily responsible for a shared Accounting center between Leica Microsystems and Leica Biosystems, including general ledger, monthly close process, internal and external audits and company accounting policies for Leicas US and Canadian Sales and Service subsidiaries. Responsible for procure-to-pay processes to drive effectiveness in transaction processing, cross training to ensure duties are covered, and SOX compliance with these transaction cycles.

This role is currently remote. When deemed appropriate, it will be onsite 3 days with 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead monthly close process for Balance Sheet and P&L. Timely monthly close. Ensure balance sheet is compliant. Accounts are reconciled accurately and timely. Assets and Liabilities are properly valued.
* Drive process improvement across departments in month-end close. Month End Post mortem. Review month end journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Manage and develop Staff. Drive process improvements to efficiency, cross training coverage, and level work load across the month. Ensure strong controls are in place for revenue recognition and training is provided annually on the revenue recognition policy to organization.
* Sox Audits. Ensure SOX compliance and Satisfactory Internal Audit Rating
* Ensure Payroll system compliance. Ensure Travel & Entertainment reimbursement compliance. Accuracy and timely compliance. Ensure Disbursement Process. Corporate Tax Packages.

Requirements for this position

* Bachelors degree with 9+ years exp. OR Masters degree with 7+ years exp. as a finance leader with success in a Sales Subsidiary or within Business Unit or Division of Large Multi-national Corporation.
* Exposure with revenue recognition complexities in a capital sales and leasing business.
* Exposure within SOX and full scope external audit of publicly held company driving excellence in Internal controls and compliance.
* CPA required.

Preferred Requirements (Desired qualifications express expectations for ideal/fully proficient candidates; equivalent experience will also be considered.)

* SAP and Blackline experience preferred.
* Experience in managing a large diverse team highly preferred.
