* ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Study, follow and emphasize all Environmental Health and Safety and Cepheid Quality System policies and practices to ensure world-class safety, quality and compliance in all aspect activities.
* Maintain the daily operation of manufacturing, automation, molding, and tooling equipment that are to be in compliance with Cepheid Quality Systems; regulations involving thorough a documented test, resulting in repeatable processes to assure products meet all internal and external safety and quality requirements.
* Maintain the necessary critical spare parts components supporting equipment through Inventory Control.
* Responds to unplanned urgent needs in having equipment repairs performed minimizing down time.
* Follow the routine / planned Equipment Maintenance Schedule to generate work orders and track records stored as historical data for future reference.

* Calibration
Analytical Troubleshooting; Inspect, Diagnose and Repair mechanical and/or electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic defects / failures associated with the following:
* Injection Molding Machines:
* Auxiliary Equipment:
* Hot runner controllers
* Mold heaters
* Material dryers
* Hopper loading systems
Automation systems:
* Robotics:
* End of Arm Tooling
* Programmable Controller
* Vision Systems
* Tooling equipment:
* EDM
* CNC
* Wire EDM
* Milling Machines
* Lathes
* Welders
Support the preventive maintenance program of all equipment; part repairs, replacements, for in house and outsource services and supplies.
Teams up with and has the ability of working in an interdisciplinary environment as a contributing team member and independently on a wide variety of projects to improve performance
equipment; Tooling, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Processing.
Equipment Maintenance Technicians are to assure they have the necessary training and tools to perform efficiently and effectively in meeting expectations.
Understanding daily tasks set forth for the day.
Maintain proper documentation of all necessary procedures in performing work.
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED):
* Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.
* All training and qualifications are required to support project requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education and Experience (in years):
* High School degree with 4-6 years of work experience.
* Equipment Maintenance experience; specifically in Plastics Injection Molding in a high-volume manufacturing/production environment.
* 3 years of extensive experience with troubleshooting and problem solving.
* Lean manufacturing skills and systems development.
* Open minded, highly flexible, can-do attitude.
* TPM, Lean, Continuous Improvement.
Knowledge and skills:
* Plastic Injection Molding.
* Medical Device Manufacturing.
* Equipment Maintenance Technician 5+ years.
* Team building, communication and collaboration.
* Reading Schematics and Diagrams.
* Strong computer and MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio.
* Familiar with inspection tools, calipers, micrometers, multimeter, microscope, etc.
* Analytical troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Physical requirements/abilities:
* Must be comfortable working in a Clean Room Environment. (gowning required).
* Sitting at a computer workstation.
* Must be able to stand for several hours when necessary.
* Walking throughout the Manufacturing / Engineering / Tooling Departments to collect data.
* Must be comfortable in speaking in a group setting / as communication is key.
* Work may require repetitive arm/wrist motion.
* Able to bend, stoop, and lift to 50 lbs.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree with 3-5 years of Plastics Injection Molding experience.
* Familiar with Corrective Action and Preventative Action Procedures.
