Job Description

Designs, creates, and manages relevant training content and activities. Facilitates learning for individuals and teams across the organization.

Accountabilities

DESIGNS AND DEVELOPS LEARNING CONTENT FOR INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED SCOPE OF WORK

* Match design strategy to business needs, budgets, and time constraints

* Apply learning strategy through the appropriate tool such as classroom, microlearning, webinars or other online tools

* Stay relevant with and teach others contemporary learning theory acumen and industry trends

* Communicate ideas and strategy to team members and stakeholders

* Demonstrate strong written communication

* Redirect business partners to appropriate learning strategy or method

MANAGES ALL ASPECTS OF PROJECTS ENSURING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

* Project manage multiple projects with multiple team members and business partners

* Collaborate with multiple business partners to determine project scope and constraints

* Develop and communicate Statement of Work

* Work with vendors or consultants where appropriate

POSSESS STRONG TRAINING AND FACILITATION ABILITIES THAT RESONATE ACROSS VARIED AUDIENCES

* Present complex content in a face-to-face or virtual classroom setting

* Deliver content that has an ambiguous or uncertain path and or outcome

* Adjust facilitations based on size and level of participants

* Stay relevant with and teach others contemporary instruction and facilitation trends

* Facilitate large groups and meetings

* Facilitate intact team activities

ADVISES THROUGH ACUMEN, RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND INFLUENCE

* Be knowledgeable about learning offerings and possibilities

* Ask great questions to get to the root of the issue

* Determine whether business request needs a learning solution or business solution

* Offer strong development solutions to the issues presented

* Bring in the right partners and communicate appropriately for next steps

* Teach others to advise business partners appropriately

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

* Proven facilitation skills beyond training delivery

* Knowledge of adult learning theory

* Experience in a variety of learning methods including classroom, self-guided, e-learning, mobile

Preferred

* 5+ years of relevant experience in the Learning and Development field and a BA or BS degree, with an emphasis on HR instructional design, adult learning,

The company was founded by Polish immigrant Maxwell Kohl, who opened a corner grocery store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1927. The company is headquartered in the Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, operating stores in every U.S. state except Hawaii.  Kohl's became the largest department store chain in the United States in May 2012, surpassing its biggest competitor J. C. Penney. The company is listed on both the S&P 500 (since 1998) and the Fortune 500. In terms of revenue, the chain was the 20th-largest retailer in the United States in 2013. As of 2013, Kohl's was the second-largest U.S. department store company by retail sales.
