The Inspector's responsibilities include inspecting, testing, sampling and sorting products or good of critical painted components. Inspectors approve batch parts for shipments while working on the production line primarily in the Demask area but Inspectors are not limited to this department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Follows processes and procedures.
- Inspects parts for paint defects paying special attention to Class A parts and inspects and evaluates painted components.
- Performs final inspection on certain identified customer parts.
- Has the authority to reject parts.
- May package materials.
- Completes reports and logs assigned by the quality department.
- Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
- Communicates with production, maintenance, quality control and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
- May operate various equipment and machinery under direct supervisor or as certified or trained.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and loud noises.
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to tolerate non-toxic paint odors.
- Must be able to frequently lift or carry 20 pounds constantly, 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel and make repetitive motions.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work all schedule hours and required overtime, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer ability with or without reasonable accommodation, to operate handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.)
- Must have 6 months of experience observing the PSP paint processes and have a sound understanding of the customer acceptance standards.
