The Safety Health Environment Manager enables consistent execution of SHE risk reduction efforts across multiple operations (assigned SC markets and Specialty locations). Deploys center-developed SHE tools and methodologies to the field, and aligns local leadership to annual SHE tactics that support overall SHE strategy. Builds local-level SHE capabilities that result in high quality SHE risk management (from risk assessment through to risk control). Provides proactive technical and regulatory SHE guidance and responds to issues on an as-needed basis. Delivers SHE program audits and facilitates site-based SHE program self-assessments. Supports company-wide SHE initiatives as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Builds alignment among assigned locations to consistently implement center-developed SHE initiatives against established timelines. Explains intent and desired outcomes of SHE initiatives to site stakeholders to improve understanding, gain acceptance, and build momentum.
Provides ready, high quality, and proactive SHE support to assigned Markets and Specialties locations. Regularly follows up with and coaches sites to ensure necessary follow-through.
Assists sites with SHE troubleshooting, clarifies SHE regulatory requirements, and answers technical SHE questions to minimize SHE exposures.
Drives local level SHE execution to reduce SHE risk exposures, drive SHE cultural engagement, and achieve regulatory compliance. Regularly monitors and reports annual SHE plan execution for assigned sites. Consults with site leaders on plan execution improvement opportunities.
Builds local SHE capability building so that sites can assess and control SHE risks in line with center-developed tools and methodologies. Coaches and educates resources in classroom and on the floor settings to ensure high quality risk management and SHE routines. Audits / facilitates SHE self-assessments per center guidance.
Delivers timely onboarding of new leaders (e.g., Supervisors, Managers, Directors, VPOs) so that they understand their role in SHE and how and when to use various SHE-related systems (CHEFs, First Advantage, DriveCam, APSM, etc.).
Tracks and supports site level SHE actions (e.g., DQ status, incident management, DriveCam events, Safety Performance Teams, SHE training, etc.) to ensure ongoing compliance and appropriate follow-up.
Leads assigned SHE incident investigations as directed by Region and / or Corporate leadership and internal counsel. Investigates Ethics Line concerns as requested. Supports local regulatory interactions (OSHA and EPA inspections, OSHA complaints, DOT inquiries, etc.).
Supports one or more company-wide SHE initiatives as assigned (may include SHE systems, special events, specific vendor relationships, etc.).
Models high ethical standards and employee advocacy reinforcing the We Care mindset.

Education/Training:
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Engineering, Science, SHE field. May consider demonstrated equivalent experience.
Professional certification (CSP, CIH, PE) or ability to become certified a plus.
Related Experience/Requirements:
Minimum of five seven (5-7) years of experience in the manufacturing, foodservice, and / or distribution industries, supporting Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Transportation Safety, and / or Environmental Management. Multi-site responsibility and experience with union environments desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Communicates passion and energy for SHE and the business. Is a change agent that can move the organization steadily toward SHE excellence.
Has solid interpersonal skills, can influence key stakeholders and build coalitions. Develops collaborative relationships with various leaders.
Has good written and oral communication skills with a strong ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and facilitate among a diverse group of individuals.
Possesses effective organizational, project management, and analytical skills and can facilitate sound decision-making.
Ability to manage competing priorities and to work effectively under pressure when tight timelines and demanding customer expectations. Is highly adaptive and able to function well within a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of various SHE federal and state laws and regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA) and industry benchmarking metrics.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to travel up to 75%.
