BASIC PURPOSE

The Cost Analyst reviews, analyzes, develops and evaluates pricing to the markets in Prism with the Cost Analyst Supervisor; performs root cause analyses of pricing issues; review documents existing business processes and performs gap analyses to develop best practices to meet business needs; develops systems and processes to track key performance indicators for individuals, teams and the department; and publishes reports of department KPIs to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develops, analyzes and reviews key performance indicators at the individual, team and department levels; PO cost Accuracy.
* Performs analysis of Invoice Discrepancy to determine root cause of pricing issues and recommend business process improvements to address.
* Read and accurately set up pricing and freight per the Purchasing contact sent by multiple avenues. Review Pricing structure, freight/line item freight, Freight Type, Start date and update in Prism.
* Performs analysis of HPSM Cases at the Department, Region and individual level and give recommendations to the Supervisors/Manager.
* Works with the supervisors/manager to document best practices and standard operating procedures for the department, update Job Aids and develop training materials.
* Develop training schedule for new employee and perform knowledge checks and alter training schedule if needed, by working with the supervisor.
* Serve as a back up to the Supervisors, as needed.
* Other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

* High School Diploma or GED is required
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Purchasing or other analytically oriented major preferred

Related Experience/Requirements:

* Minimum three years pricing / costing analysis experience preferred.
* Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* High level proficiency with Microsoft Office; (Excel, Word, Outlook) understands formulas and utilizes v-lookups; and Outlook.
* Ability to work with a large volume of data required.
* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and interact with a variety of associates (all levels).
* Strong attention to detail and flexibility to follow through on commitments, and ability to work within an environment of changing priorities required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Motivated self-starter that demonstrates positive attitude and business maturity.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to respond professionally to internal and external phone calls and correspondence.
* Ability to work independently and in a collaborative manner; demonstrate business maturity in conduct of daily activities.
* Ability to comprehend and interpret complex pricing and apply the correct pricing rules and calculations.
* Ability to prioritize workload, meet critical deadlines and work calmly under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to work productively, more than 9 hours per day, at a computer terminal in an open cubicle environment.
