Job Description

Support EBR (Employee Benefit Reporting) accounts that hold client-controlled assets and provide secondary reviews of those assets. Serve as the main point of contact for business line administration and research any client inquiries or issues promptly. Complete accrual reviews and facilitate asset set-up corrections related to assigned accounts. Generate and analyze reports, as well as research and resolve exceptions prior to established deadlines. Perform unitized accounting valuations, including the research of any unusual activity in accounts & confirming treatment of activity for valuation, by the established deadlines. Assist with secondary review processes. Responsible for moderate to high complexity relationships, including high-touch clients. Possess growth mindset. Partner with management to establish accounting standards and best practices. Create/enhance processes, procedures, and controls to transform our business and provide the best customer service possible to our clients. Lead various projects and process improvement initiatives, engaging team members and business line partners for their feedback. Closely assist with the annual audit process and provide answers to audit-related questions. Assist with client calls and presentations, including meeting with potential new business to provide explanations of unitized accounting products and financial reporting. Serve as a subject matter expert for accounting-related topics. Act as principal trainer and mentor to less experienced accountants and accounting specialists.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Three to four years of experience in financial accounting activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis

- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data and problem solve

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to be assertive in asking investigative questions to gather more information

- Experience with facilitating client calls/presentations and comfortable answering questions about department-related products and processes

- Possess leadership and mentorship skills

- Lead and assist with projects and process improvement initiatives

- Demonstrates good judgement and escalates issues to management as needed
