Job Description
U.S. Banks Commercial Banking business is one of the largest providers of innovative financial solutions in the United States across a diverse base of corporate, public sector, financial institutions, commercial and business banking customers.
We are looking for a top-performing Portfolio Manager with an innovative, analytical and naturally curious mindset to help us successfully manage every aspect of the credit process and administration, portfolio management, compliance and monitoring as it relates to prospective, new and existing commercial banking clients.
This exciting role
* Partners with assigned Relationship Manager(s) to successfully manage Commercial Banking credit account relationships
* Grows revenue as directed by senior management by successfully closing new business relationships and retaining and expanding relationships with existing customers
* Demonstrates a functional knowledge of a spectrum of commercial banking products, much in a client facing capacity
Responsibilities include
* Underwrites all types of credit account exposure including, but not limited to, working capital lines of credit, owner-occupied real estate loans, acquisition financing, etc.
* Manages an assigned credit portfolio of approximately $80,000,000 to $180,000,000 in loan commitments
* Successfully closes new business relationships and expands existing relationships
* Manages credit risk and responds to prospect or customer credit questions and makes independent calls on assigned portfolio of relationships
* Reviews the expiring financial statement reports and manages appropriate request communication to ensure the collection of current and pertinent financial information
* Enhances overall portfolio profitability, credit quality and risk management by processing timely renewals and ensuring satisfactory on-going monitoring of loans to clients
* Works closely with operational areas of the bank a well as the banks legal counsel to facilitate the accurate completion of all necessary loan documents and resolution of collateral or documentation exceptions as needed
* Reviews all necessary loan documents with stated credit approvals and loan polices
* Secondarily, provides customer service, participates in joint sales calls with Relationship Manager(s) and identifies customer needs
During the pandemic this position will be worked remotely/from home, however, this role will be in-office again once it's safe to return. Our office is located in the Financial District of San Francisco, and the hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Basic qualifications
* Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
* Five to seven years of experience in commercial or related underwriting experience
Preferred skills/experience
* Considerable knowledge of commercial lending including letters of credit, borrowing base lending, syndicated loans, operating exposure for foreign exchange and ACH, and transactions secured by real estate collateral
* Strong technical expertise in reviewing legal documentation
* Demonstrated ability to underwrite and manage a commercial credit portfolio
* Advanced knowledge of commercial finance, law, documentation, accounting and data systems
