Western Region CBO

The Western Region Consolidated Business Office provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance and customer service to our affiliated UHS facilities. We are seeking dynamic and talented individuals to join our team.

Job Description:
Responsible for the maintenance and processing of patient accounts. Ensure timely, accurate posting and billing of Medicare claims. Verifies accuracy of Medicare coding. Bills Medicare Fiscal Intermediary inputting billing information, initiating electronic transmission. Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying and providing additional information and following up on claims. Resolves discrepancies and implements corrective actions. Adjust patient bills by review remittance advice. Retrieves electronic remittances (via Auccupost and all other electronic avenues as appropriate). Research outstanding claims. Apply proper balances to patient responsibility. Assist with insurance verifications. Ensures effective communication and positive working relationships. Prepares monthly reports by summarizing billings, adjustments and revenues received. Keeps current on Medicare billing and reimbursement procedures. Possesses good judgement and adheres to all policies ensuring the protection of confidential information related to patient demographics, medical information, diagnosis codes, PHI accounting to both internal and Federal HIPPA regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications

Education:
High School or equivalent.

Experience:
2 years healthcare/collection experience and or equivalent experience in a hospital setting.

Other:
Demonstrated knowledge of insurance billing relating to patient reimbursement.

Technical Skills:
Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and patient accounting system.
