Dover Behavioral Health is a mental health facility located in Dover, DE. Our treatment center provides mental health and addiction treatment services to individuals from Delaware, Maryland, and most other states throughout the US. Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a part-time Admissions Counselor. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high quality assessment and admissions services to the public. The schedule is Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9:00am - 5:30pm with opportunity to pick up more hours when available. This position includes a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Perform comprehensive psychiatric and/or chemical dependency assessments, crisis intervention, professional advice and assistance with disposition of a psychiatric or CD problem or situation, which may or may not include admission to any DBHS Program
* Provide service to a variety of customer groups, including but not limited to: physicians, allied health professionals, hospital emergency departments, convenience care centers, other health care providers, schools, social services and mental health agencies, police, courts, employers and the public at large
* Respond to telephone, off-site, and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health care or information about mental health related services. Facilitate callers to optimal level of care or resources
* Document all crisis calls and related information on Intake Call form and enter data for tracking and analysis
* Coordinate admissions from other facilities and treatment centers
* Help patients and families adjust to hospital admissions explaining emotional/social responses to illness and treatment
* Conduct crisis safety plans for patients referred to outpatient level of care and coordinates appropriate discharge plans from the Assessment and Referral Center
* Responsible for providing thorough clinical information to insurance companies to meet requirements/criteria for services to provide necessary services
Qualifications
Requirements:
MA, MS, MSW or RN; Mental Health Screener Certification Preferred (DBH will assist with obtaining certification)
