Responsibilities
Quail Run Behavioral Health is seeking a professional Health Unit Coordinator/Secretary to join our team. This is a FT position working 12 hour shifts. The position is eligible for a generous benefits and PTO package.
The Unit Coordinator/Secreatary coordinates and maintains a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care unit(s) in support of nursing services. This is including, but not limited to, maintenance requests, patient supplies, dietary requests, clerical support, answering phones, and related unit-support functions. Please see the basic duty requirments below:
1. Answer and disseminate all incoming calls from reception and intake in a professional and courteous manner. Assist RN's to ensure patient discharges run in a timely manner.
2. Prepare and process new patient packets.
3. Print and update Patient labels and binder.
4. Update Bed-board and White-Boards with Discharges, Intakes and Transfers.
5. Begin and update Nursing Report Sheet
6. Complete dietary order and create dietary card.
7. Utilize the paging system to announce callers as required.
8. Fax RX orders to Pharmacy.
9. File all Lab Reports; transcribed Psychiatric Doctor's note and Authorization letters/information in patient files.
10. Assist Internal Medicine Doctors with patients and charts.
11. Coordinate transfer paperwork for patients going to Hospitals.
12. Escort Visitors/Case Managers to unit when needed.
13. Organize unit/monitor medical and office supplies. Report all maintenance and IT issues through Facility Dude.
14. Update ROI Binder and perform a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
15. Create Room Assignment tags.
16. Will be crossed trained to cover Reception Desk and Q-15's on an emergency basis.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or medical certification preferred.
Experience: Three years' experience in administrative functions to include, hospital/patient care experience or any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment.
Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. CPR certification, Level 1 fingerprint clearance card within 30 days of hire.
