Are you a hardworking individual that enjoys product management? PPG may have what you are looking for! As the Director of Product Management - Paint, you will act as a strategic leader for the PPG Architectural Coatings Paint product portfolio. You will develop product strategy and executable product roadmaps that will deliver sustainable growth and margin expansion for the product portfolio. Execution will require strong leadership and drive, and the ability to influence externally and internally within a matrixed organization. Key activities for the role include the following: driving sales and margin expansion, product roadmap development, portfolio analysis & management, multi-generational product planning, go-to-market tools & support, end-of-life product line management, and complexity analysis & reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

Accomplishments within the 6-12 months include:

1. Align product development portfolio to business strategy, and drive initiatives prioritization.

S/he will perform a comprehensive review of the product offerings, market and competitive landscape, sales support tools, new product development programs, and value propositions, with the end result of providing gap analysis, and recommendations for overcoming identified gaps to drive organic growth and margin expansion. S/he will review the current global portfolio and identify critical gaps impacting PPGs value proposition to customers. Within the first 90 days, s/he will prioritize and make recommendations and develop action plans that align with the strategic direction of the business. Within the 12 months, the change would be visible in the product portfolio, the overall value of the portfolio, complexity reduction and incremental sales growth would be obtained.

2. Build clear product roadmaps that align with business segments and technologies.

Within 30 days, s/he will ascertain a clear understanding of business segments and strategies. Within 3-6 months, s/he will be well-versed in macro-trends of the market /product segments. Within 6-12 months, in partnership with the technical, marketing, and portfolio management organization, develop a multigenerational product roadmap inclusive of actionable items to obtain real differentiation in the market(s).

3. Identify and drive complexity reduction initiatives

Partner with the portfolio management, marketing, and operations teams to identify and drive complexity reduction initiatives with quantifiable impact to the business in 2020.

4. Update/develop multi-regional multi-generational product/platform plans (MGPP)

S/he will demonstrate a deep understanding of market and product strategy, macro trends as well as gaps within PPGs Architectural Paint portfolio. In partnership with the technical, marketing, and portfolio management organization, develop a multigenerational product roadmap.

Qualifications:

* A BS degree in a technical or business discipline; MBA preferred.
* At least 10 years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, or technical marking role with at least five (5) of those years in senior product management, or business management role.
* Strong business acumen and proficiency in product marketing including product life cycle management, new product launches, portfolio rationalization, and long-term product planning.
* Demonstrated strategic thinking and change management experience
* Strong communication skills demonstrated by deep customer knowledge with customers, results in orientation with PPG Architectural leadership.
* Ability to work externally with key customers, business partners, and key internal stakeholders
