Basic Job Functions:
The Draftsperson / Detailer is responsible for the complete development of the 3D model, construction drawings, and shop details for production jobs of varying complexity with the use of Tekla Structures.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Strong math and communication skills, ability to work well with others.
* Ability to visualize in a 3D environment.
* High school Diploma / GED.
Detailed Selection Criteria:
* Creating and editing 3D Models, Construction Drawings, Shop Drawing, and Part Sheets.
* Manage all necessary documents that are included in each specific project.
* Metal building terminology, typical building layouts, and fabrication practices.
* Knowledge of our fabrication shop, and the relation of building components to each other.
* Read contract and design packages, interpret the necessary information required on erection drawings.
* Calculate building components and develop the ability to accurately detail standard projects.
* Carry out suggestions and directions as expected, to start recognizing areas of personal strength.
* Accurately judge required time for completion of tasks.
* Utilize equipment, procedures, and methods to increase personal productivity.
* Applicants will build their effectiveness in communication with other departments and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Associates Degree / Certificate with focus on architecture, steel construction or related field.
* Experience in AutoCAD and/or Tekla Structures.
* Experience in the Metal Building industry.
* Detailing/Drafting experience.

The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
