Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The Facebook family of apps is currently available in up to 100+ languages and we are adding many more. 88% of people already use our products from outside of North America and we continue to expand internationally. As a Localization Program Manager, you will help deliver a great user experience to our international audience. This full-time internship position is based in our main office in Menlo Park.

Localization Program Manager Intern Responsibilities

* Analyze localizability and localization workflow issues and provide optimal solutions

* Review, prioritize, and track progress on tasks that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality

* Create and execute on the localization schedule Work with vendors to ensure that deliveries are completed correctly and on time

* Collaborate upstream with Localization Program Managers on all aspects of new product launches internationally

Minimum Qualifications

* Communication experience, and experience working across time zones and cultures

* Experience in localization platforms, file formats and CAT tools such as SDL Trados Studio, Idiom WorldServer, or any similar in-house localization tools and platform that manages and/or automates the translation workflow

* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Master degree in Linguistics, Localization, Information Science and Translation or related social science field

* Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

* Knowledge of additional languages other than English

* Experience in localization, linguistics or related field

* Familiarity with the Facebook translation platform

* Project management degree or experience

* Experience with analyzing or querying data (e.g. SQL, R)

* Curious, self-driven, analytical and excited to play with data

* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
