As a Device Technical Program Manager at Facebook Reality Labs, you will lead a cross-functional core team through the Product Development Process (from early concept phase to launch) to develop and launch industry-leading AR/VR Products. This is a highly visible role, requiring an experienced leader with strong technical skills and business acumen; skilled at communicating with all levels of the company. We look for technical program managers who care deeply about the products they work on, who are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced innovative environment.
Device Technical Program Manager Responsibilities
* Lead a cross-functional core team spanning hardware, software, core technology, content, operations, marketing, legal, and finance.
* Own the program schedule from pre-concept through launch, managing the delivery of key program milestones.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the program.
* Proactively identify and drive resolution of critical program risks/issues.
* Manage cross-functional dependencies.
* Establish best practices along with key performance indicators to ensure success.
* Be able to distill complex topics into clear communications to program stakeholders.
* Ensure resource needs are established and fulfilled.
* Up to 20% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
* 10+ years experience as a technical program manager, leading consumer electronics device development across both hardware and software, with a track record of shipping devices on time.
* Experience in process definition/improvements, program management, tools.
* Experience in team leadership, decision making, and presenting to groups.
* Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
